Sponsored by the NOCFL and organized by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, the summer camp of Confucius Institute for Scotland Schools to China, from the 9th to the 17th of July, hosted by the International cooperation and Exchange Office and the International Exchange Institute was kicked off in TFSU. After a week of intensive Chinese language training and cultural experience, 120 teenagers selected from 11 Confucius institutes and Confucius classrooms in Scotland successfully ended their studies in the afternoon of July 17th.

Confucius Institute for Scotland Schools, founded in 2012 and jointly sponsored by Tianjin Municipal Education Commission and Scotland National Language Center, is the only Confucius institute group in the UK organized by three institutions including local institutions, Chinese educational authorities and schools. The year of 2017 is the 5th founding anniversary, and also the first time this project has ever chosen TFSU as the main reception institution in Tianjin. TFSU attached great importance to the reception. In order to ensure the reception quality of the super large group and the teaching work, and to provide planned teaching and guaranteed safety, the university began to make preparations in May. Competent departments did a lot of careful and meticulous work arrangements in the earlier stage. The International Cooperation and Exchange Office, International Exchange Institute and Quest Honors College made concerted effort, which laid a solid foundation for the reception.

Through a week of study and cultural experience, Scottish students experienced the charm of Chinese language and Chinese culture at a close distance, and got a deep and good impression on beautiful Tianjin. Before their departure, the Scottish teenagers prepared a rich and colorful theatrical performance, to thank all the teachers, international student management personnel and student volunteers, and thank the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission for its support and help.

TFSU, adhering to the motto to "explore both in China and abroad, and advance both in moral conduct and achievement,” will continue to expand the cultural exchange platform, in order to disseminate China's good voice and tell good Chinese stories, and make due contributions to the construction of a beautiful Tianjin.
